    Work Made For Hire Amendment

    The survey though sends a clear message to legislators: the impact of the proposed amendment will not only strip content creators of their intellectual property rights, but the rewards that come from their work.

    Retail CD Pricing

    A majority of participants not only found today's pricing levels unreasonable (74%), but excessive as compared to other forms of entertainment (70%). To reinforce the point, 40% stated that they would significantly increase their CD purchasing if prices were to drop to $9.99 while 45% would marginally increase their purchasing.

    My.MP3.com

    The survey found music industry members (57%) largely in agreement with the court ruling against MP3.com regarding the legality of the My.MP3.com service. Perhaps even more alarming to the company's public image campaign, 55% disagreed with MP3.com's countersuit against the RIAA that they had engaged in unfair business practices against them.
